Grotto Falls, just outside of Canmore, AB is a pleasant easy winter hike and is also quite popular with climbers. We hiked up to the falls during a short winter vacation. After watching various climbers traverse the falls we continued up the creek basin. Our son got bored with just hiking and start to jumping from various rocks and trees… parkour style. We asked him to be careful and he claimed mountain goats never fall. A short while later, a rock that our son jumped onto, shifted quite dramatically causing the “Goat” to tumble. The Canmore hospital cleared him of any broken bones or serious injuries and we continued on with our vacation, however, we didn’t get to see any more parkour for the rest of the vacation.
