Inspired by an unforgettable hike above Lake Louise, this ale takes its name from Devil’s Thumb—an unmarked trail above the Beehive on St. Agnes trail. My wife led the climb, fighting the steep, loose rock and thin air…struggling to navigate to the top. We final reached the summit and found breathtaking turquoise views of Lake Louis. As usually, we enjoyed our summit beers and lunch, the effort felt worth every step. On the descent, my wife—still leading—paused, laughed, and said, “Oh, there’s the trail!” Devil’s Thumb Cascadian Dark Ale celebrates that great views never come easy.

Devil’s Thumb is a bold and balanced Cascadian Dark Ale-a style born in the Pacific Northwest. This beer marries dark, roasted malts with bright, citrus-forward hops. Cascade and Centennial hops bring layers of pine, grapefruit, and floral spice, while roasted malt adds hints of cocoa and coffee. The result is a clean, medium-bodied ale with a crisp bitterness and a dry finish that keeps you reaching for another sip.
